Display and language

Your display language and number format only change what you see. The customer language changes what your customers read on their line items.

All of these are on the Preferences tab in the app settings. Every role can open it.

Your own settings

  1. Open Preferences.
  2. Choose a Display language: English or German. German is the default.
  3. Choose a Number format:
    • German (de-DE): 63.100,00 € and 0,848836. This is the default.
    • American (en-US): $63,100.00 and 0.848836.
The preview next to the fields shows the result.
  4. Choose Save Preferences.

These settings apply to you only and are not recorded in the compliance log. Colleagues keep their own, and prices stay the same whichever format you read them in.

The language your customers see

QuoteXelerator writes a description onto each line item it creates. The customer language decides whether that description is in English or German. You can set it in two places.

For the whole portal

Under Customer presentation language on the Preferences tab, pick the default for new quotes and save. German is used if nothing is set. The owner changes this setting. Other people see it read-only, unless the owner has given them an additional permission. Each change is recorded in the compliance log with the old and new value.

For one deal

When you create line items, the confirm step has a Customer language field. It is filled with the portal default. Change it for a customer who reads the other language. The choice applies to that deal and is recorded in the compliance log.

Set the portal default to the language most of your customers read, and change it per deal for the rest.

Limits

  • English and German are the only languages today. If you need another, write to contact@quotexelerator.com.
  • Save Preferences saves your own settings first and the customer language second. If saving your own settings fails, the customer language is not saved either. Check both before trying again.
