Compliance logs
The compliance log records what happened to your quotes, recipes and permissions, and who did it. Use it to show later how a deal was priced.
You do not switch the log on. QuoteXelerator writes to it whenever something relevant happens.
Open the log
- Open the QuoteXelerator app settings.
- Choose the Compliance Logs tab.
- To narrow the list, set From Date, To Date or an Action, then choose Apply. Clear resets the filters.
Only owners see the Compliance Logs tab. Managers and representatives do not.
What is recorded
The log knows about 100 kinds of events. They fall into these groups:
- Changes after generation. Someone adds, edits or removes a line item that QuoteXelerator created, changes a quote property, or deletes the quote. See Notifications for the emails these send.
- Quotes and target prices. Line item creation with the vendor quotes the line items came from, target price requests and decisions, and target prices that were blocked because the margin would go negative.
- Recipes. Creating, publishing and archiving a recipe, and changes to its currency settings.
- Currency. Rate locks, reserve consumption, and cost inputs that were rejected for being below the ECB floor.
- People. Recipe assignments, additional permissions, and changes to either.
- Connections and account. Vendor tokens added or removed, each imported vendor quote with its status at Atlassian and the quotes imported with it, API keys, and emails about your subscription.
- The log itself. Opening and exporting the log is recorded too.
Each entry is marked critical or important. Changes after generation are critical.
How entries are protected
The email address, name, IP address and browser of the person who acted are encrypted before they are stored.
Each entry also stores a hash of its time, action, target and details, combined with the hash of the entry before it. If one of those values is changed later, the hashes stop matching from that entry on. Choose Verify chain on the Compliance Logs tab to run that check.
Export the log
- Set From Date and To Date. Exports use the date range and ignore the action filter.
- Choose Export CSV, Export JSON or Export PDF.
- CSV and JSON contain the raw entries, plus readable columns in your customer presentation language. Use them to load the data into another system.
- PDF is for reading, for example by an auditor or a customer. It is written in your customer presentation language.
- An export holds up to 10,000 entries.
Every export is recorded in the log, with a hash of the exported content.
Retention
When the app is uninstalled, we delete your app data but keep the compliance log for a limited time. Our privacy policy says how long.
